Long Haired Whippets
This breed is a very sweet breed of dog. The Long Haired Whippet is an ancient and rare breed. It is the same as thing as the version of a whippet everyone is used to seeing only they have a coat. This breed can be shown under some rare breed associations and under the ILWC. The ILHWC also allows Short hairs of Long haired descents and Percent Long Hairs to show under them. Short Hairs of Long Haired Descent are exactly what it sounds like, these are pups with one Long Haired parent and one parent that is a pure smooth. All of these pups will have smooth coats, but they will carry the Long Hair Gene for breeding purposes. Percent Long Hairs are pups that have one parent that is a Long Hair and one parent of another breed. These are sometimes called Lurchers as well! These pups will also carry the long hair gene for breeding purposes.
